Galmpton’s village hall, or ‘Institute’, as it has been known since its conception, was completed in 1902 under the instruction of the Lord of the Manor at the time, Thomas Bedford Bolitho.
The main room or hall, remains very much as it was in 1902, one area that could be sub-divided with a magnificent wooden folding partition. That original partition remains useable today having last been renovated in 2015. The parquet floor is original.
Following the Second World War, the building was enlarged with the addition of the stage area and storeroom on the South end and an enlarged kitchen on the East side.
Into the 21st century, now boasts state of the art modern technology for talks and meetings.
